Safety and Wellbeing
wellbeing[at]climatecamp.org.uk
Our responsibilities and subgroups include:
- Tranquility group ; Preventing the escalation of conflict on site.
- Gate ; sorting out a mechanism for making the gate as democratic and secure as possible.
- Medic Group ; Providing on site first aid and general public health at the Climate Camp.
- The medic group will not be providing medics to go on actions with affinity groups that take place off the site of the Climate Camp. So if you want somebody with first aid skills on your action you will need to get some training - which is being provided by the action medics group. See http://www.actionmedics.org.uk/Training.html for more details.
- Wellbeing and Trauma Groups ; Making sure that people on site aren.t burnt out or traumatised, encouraging people to look after themselves at the camp and in everyday life. Encouraging people to live positive and healthy lifestyles whilst taking action about climate change; providing support for those needing it after actions or otherwise; helping to make the camp a positive experience.
- Legal ; Support for actions and for the land (especially if squatted).
- Health and Safety
- Official Liaison (fire brigade etc)
- Prisoner Support
